Apple Cake Pops

They sounded adorable from the site www.bakerella.com , but not so easy and I really wasn't a fan of how they tasted. I may have to tweak the recipe a bit next time. Yes, next time. Rarely do I make something that I don't like and leave it. I need to try things a couple times to either perfect it or give it up.

I was making these for the last day of Gavin's Preschool on Tuesday for the Mommy's parent class. Needless to say, after I made some and tried one, I ran to Target and picked up some mini cupcakes instead. They were a big hit. I don't think these would have been.

End of the school year already?

I can't believe we are 3 1/2 weeks away from summer break. This year has flown by. My sweet little Brooklyn is going to be a 2nd grader. That seems so old to me. She has learned so much this year and has blown away our expectations of what she can do. She is a fabulous speller. Aces her spelling tests every week, reads a couple chapter books a week, and really enjoys math. She is a little Mia and Brian combined! We are so proud of her and her accomplishments this year.

Not only are we 3 1/2 weeks from the last day of school, but also until baby #3 arrives. It can't come soon enough (mommy says). I had to start end of school thank yous and projects a while ago, so I'm so thankful for my helpful blogs that give me great ideas for gifts. I've posted the Teacher Appreciation Gifts for 2010 and End of the School Year 2010 in my "Crafts" tab above. Check them out!

A Whole Year

I can't believe it's been a whole year since I've posted on this blog. My goal is to get it updated in a timely manner.

I've been feeling craftly lately, so with ideas fresh in my mind, I hope to make some new projects soon and post them as well.

In the mean time, I need to go back a year and post a few ideas I've had. Don't forget to check out my other sites on this blog (Baked Goods, Recipe's, Crafts, etc.) they have some postings as well.

Craft Night at Carols

Last fall our R.S. had an Auction and I bid and won a craft night at a good friends house. I was able to invite 3 other friends. So a couple Friday nights ago, I arrived at Carol's house and had a great evening of crafts and friends. This was our work stations mat. She cut out the paper dolls to look like each of us. Too cute!

We made 2 cards and the cutest Jelly Bean Jars for the kids Easter Baskets.
We had a blast and I'm so thankful for Carol and her willingness to host.

Differences

My father-in-law made a comment about not being sure how this blog is any different from the Head Family one. For one thing, he's right. So, I need to explain why this blog is different.

1- It's Private - Not everyone can see it. Only Family members (and two of my very best friends)
2- The pictures, crafts and miscellaneous items that I have posted, are not items I want everyone in the world to see. They are projects that I have done and pretty proud of. I hope to someday make this into a personal memory book.
3- Lastly, I may (haven't yet) put some personal stories in here that I don't necessarily want to tell everyone. But, they're coming! Just you wait!!

Also, look for a link soon that represents Brian! He told me he is ready to start contributing some time to a blog page just for him!

WALL-E

Gavin's 3rd B-Day Cake...

Hard to post pictures

I have had a hard time posting pictures of myself. Can anyone blame me? Nobody likes to see pictures of themselves, especially ugly ones. I feel like I have been in the same frame of mind for a few years now. Maybe it's time to do something about it. Wish me luck, here's to my health, mentally, and physically. I hope to start posting pictures in two months. Thats my goal. If I haven't posted any by May 20th, I'll expect some pressure!!!
