Precious time...
What is that? I don't have a lot of precious time, I'm too busy. But when I do schedule time for myself, I'm currently in the process of getting my cupcake business together. I've been baking like mad, designing my website (still a work in progress), making business cards and drawing up ideas left and right. I've got a lot of thought going into this, and it's something I've always wanted to do. I need to make sure I do it right and up to my standards before I get my name out there. I hope to be spreading the word by the middle of October. Keep your eyes open and your ears alert!

Lori's Baby Shower
Lilly's B-day Cupcakes
A good friend of mine has a little girl who just turned 8. She told her mom she wanted some cupcakes she saw at Target for her party. I was heading over to Lynn's cake & candy supply shop and looked to see if they had the cupcake toppers that Lilly wanted so we could bake the cupcakes ourselves for cheaper. They did have them and for a great price. I told my friend Lori that I would bake them for her, since she was 8 1/2 months pregnant and had enough to worry about with the party. I went to Target myself to look at the cupcakes she wanted and took a mental note of what they looked like, and made them myself. I think they came out really good and I'm pretty sure they were a big hit at the pool party! She also saved a lot of money! Target was selling 9 of them for $7.99. She needed to have 24 for the party. I purchased 24 toppers for $3.80 at the cake shop. With one box of cake mix $.99 (which Lilly got to choose which flavor she wanted) and homemade butter cream frosting for about $1.50. What a savings! $6.29 compared to $24. I really enjoyed making them.

Apple Cake Pops
They sounded adorable from the site www.bakerella.com , but not so easy and I really wasn't a fan of how they tasted. I may have to tweak the recipe a bit next time. Yes, next time. Rarely do I make something that I don't like and leave it. I need to try things a couple times to either perfect it or give it up.
I was making these for the last day of Gavin's Preschool on Tuesday for the Mommy's parent class. Needless to say, after I made some and tried one, I ran to Target and picked up some mini cupcakes instead. They were a big hit. I don't think these would have been.
End of the school year already?
I can't believe we are 3 1/2 weeks away from summer break. This year has flown by. My sweet little Brooklyn is going to be a 2nd grader. That seems so old to me. She has learned so much this year and has blown away our expectations of what she can do. She is a fabulous speller. Aces her spelling tests every week, reads a couple chapter books a week, and really enjoys math. She is a little Mia and Brian combined! We are so proud of her and her accomplishments this year.
Not only are we 3 1/2 weeks from the last day of school, but also until baby #3 arrives. It can't come soon enough (mommy says). I had to start end of school thank yous and projects a while ago, so I'm so thankful for my helpful blogs that give me great ideas for gifts. I've posted the Teacher Appreciation Gifts for 2010 and End of the School Year 2010 in my "Crafts" tab above. Check them out!

A Whole Year
I can't believe it's been a whole year since I've posted on this blog. My goal is to get it updated in a timely manner.
I've been feeling craftly lately, so with ideas fresh in my mind, I hope to make some new projects soon and post them as well.
In the mean time, I need to go back a year and post a few ideas I've had. Don't forget to check out my other sites on this blog (Baked Goods, Recipe's, Crafts, etc.) they have some postings as well.
